One of them is called the Terrorists and the other one is Counter-Terrorists. Both teams are tasked with eliminating the opposite one but there are also some separate objectives they have to complete.
So the Terrorists, depending on the game mode you choose, must plant a bomb or defend the hostages. On the other hand, the Counter-Terrorist have to prevent the bomb from being planted, defuse the bomb or try to rescue the hostages. The game features 9 modes and each has distinct characteristics. There is also the matchmaking support you can try. It allows you to play on dedicated Valve servers. Along with that, members of the community are allowed to host their own servers including custom maps as well as game modes.
We have to mention that in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, there are five categories of weapons you can purchase.
